Interesting caucus. Our topic was what would you tell someone at the conference about Rhode Island in a sentence or two.
I suggested the ease with which we can get in touch with our legislators, and how in Rhode Island we are about one degree separated from just about everyone in this state.
We also got on the topic of Voter ID law in the state and I pointed out that our law actually increases the chances for fraud.
Towards the end we came up with one promoted by Patrick Crowley:
Just because they say there Democrats doesn’t mean they are progressives.
And of course Patrick being the rabble rouser, had us all wind up and start clapping before we opened the doors. Got to love it when someone understands the art of perception.
I participated quite a bit, if only because I have a deeper understand of Rhode Island history and politics.
I saw Patrick out in the hall and he thanked me for the comments.
Next up is the Marriage Equality: Past, Present and Future at 4:30PM
