Hey MetroPCS – your 1X CDMA network is still on Standard Time, not daylight time

So I have a Samsung SCH-R910 4G Android phone on MetroPCS. The network time on it is correct in fact the computer, cable box and phone all have the same time.

Keyron has an LG 1X CDMA phone from MetroPCS. The time on it is exactly one hour behind. Seems MetroPCS’s 1X CDMA network didn’t get the time update.

Now this is interesting. I’ve called 611 and notified them. Send a not to support@metropcs.com, and I’m posting it here. I understand that in corporate America today sometimes you have to shame them into fixing things. I’ve been through that with Cox Communications before. Fix the NTP settings on your 1X network guys!

    1. No they’re not. The machines behind telecom systems are mostly Unix/Linux based. So it’s trivial to set them to get their time via NTP. /etc/ntpd.conf is your friend guys. Just point it at one of NIST’s time servers and you’re good.
